A Bed Build was held on September 21, 2023 in Mowry Park in Greenwich, NY. Several churches and individuals participated in completing 54 beds. Many people also participated by donating funds to buy the bedding that was needed for the beds. It was again a joint effort to make beds for children who do not have them. Some pictures follow:
October 16, 2021, Easton , Centenary, Eagle Bridge, South Cambridge, and Stump UMC Churches came together for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build at Lowe’s in Saratoga. We joined the upstate Mechanicville Chapter in building 45 beds for children who do not have a bed. This outreach mission included making blankets, drilling wood and cutting it to the proper sizes to make all the pieces needed to build a bed. This process requires a lot of sanding. We also had several people donate bedding and all kinds of pillows and blankets. The bed build was several hours long and over 100 people came through at various parts of the day to help. This mission was so important for the Sunday schools of all five Churches. The children worked together and saw how difficult the work in making the beds is. We were all blessed to come together as disciples of the Lord. It was a wonderful day and the weather held for us until about an hour or so after cleanup. The volunteers who set up the build with all the tools and wisdom to create such a beautiful event, we thank you. Thank you so much to Jim Welch, the Mechanicville Chapter leader, all the volunteers and all the wonderful people who made this day such a great success.
God was truly with us all and there is no greater love than when God’s children come together to spread the “Good News” and to love their neighbor as themselves.
